10.   Pick your date. Going with friends? Going with that someone special? Organize your time. Ask for the night off from work. Plan your special day ahead of time. Start that eating or exercise program. Get yourself into your best shape!

9.   Plan out your budget. There are a lot of incidental expenses. Plan for them. You have dinner, limo, flowers, dress, hair, jewelry, shoes, makeup, tuxedo rental. The vest should match the dress. Coordinate your ensemble.

8.   Get on the books. Schedule your hair appointment, nail appointment, tanning appointment, makeup appointment. Schedule early so you have your pick of times.

7.   Select your dress. Your dress should flatter you. If unsure of your color, pick darker colors and simple cuts. Feel comfortable in the dress. If comfortable then you will feel more confident. Don't go for the ultra-trendy. Go for the timeless, classic elegance. A true timeless dress will allow you to wear it into the future without dating you.

6.   Now that you've got the dress/tux, pick your accessories. Shoes, jewelry, clutch, purse etc.... Wear your shoes to break them in a little at a time so you won't be miserable at the dance.

5.   Make your dinner reservations. Talk to your companion(s) about what they like to eat. Plan where you are going and what you'll have so you can stay within your budget.

4.   If you want to get a bronze, healthy look, book a tanning appointment (if not done already) or purchase a self tanner cream. Try the tanning cream early (a few days) so you know how it will look on you before you use it the day of the prom.

3.   Remember is your toes are showing they should be pampered too. If making a manicure appointment go ahead and do the piggies too. You will feel pampered and relaxed. Prom time can be very stressful. Relax while having you fingers and toes massaged and pampered.

2.   A day or two before the prom, steam your dress or air out the tux so it's ready to be worn. Pick up the flowers (corsage, boutonniere, wrist corsage). Follow florist directions on storage.

1.   The day of the prom. After your hair appointment, makeup appointment and/or nail appointment select your incidentals that you will need with you through the night. In your clutch or purse have your id, charged cell phone, lip gloss, spending money, and maybe some body mist or small deodorant for the extra burst of freshness. Remember to be on time for all appointments and dinner reservations. Tip your servers and your stylists. They are there to make you look good and feel good to so that you'll have an extraordinary time at the Prom.
