Children ages 3 to 8 will be building marble runs. Registration is required and parental assistance is preferred for the younger children.
Martha Bove from Thurber House will be here to help beginners learn the simple tools, strokes, and styles that can turn handwritten words into visual art. This workshop will cover the basic tips and tricks of crafting lovely letters and words using everyday tools & techniques at your disposal—no fancy fountain pens, messy ink wells, or gothic lettering knowledge needed.
Donations for our Annual Halloween Costume Drive are now being collected at the Information Desk. Selections will be available in the lobby in October.

Navica Covid-19 Tests
Call or stop by the Library today to pick up a free Covid-19 test through our Curbside Pickup. Individuals need access to a phone, computer, or laptop with a webcam. Also, an email address and internet connection are needed. After going to the Navica web site (ohio.emed.com) or downloading the Navica app, the individual taking the test will need to set up an account.
Friends of the Library Booksale
The Friends of the Library will be hosting their annual booksale from October 6th - October 9th in the HBML Community Room.
All items are available for a donation amount of your choice.
Hours will be as follows:
Wednesday, October 6th - 10:00 a.m.-6:30 p.m.
Hurt/Battelle Memorial Library Is Joining the SEO Consortia
The Library will be closed on September 14th and 15th so that staff may receive training on the new Serving Every Ohioan software. The SEO (Serving Every Ohioan) Service Center, located in Caldwell, is a branch of the State Library of Ohio, which supports a consortium of 98 Library systems at 258 service points throughout 49 counties across Ohio using the OPLIN network.
