Perhaps you simply wish your current handwriting were more aesthetic. Or you may already have pretty penmanship, but desire to up your game so you can confidently hand-letter a custom script for gifts, events, décor, or other cherished items—art that can be proudly circulated and displayed.The art of “modern calligraphy” is more accessible than it looks, and I’m here to help beginners learn the simple tools, strokes, and styles that can turn handwritten words into visual art. This workshop will cover the basic tips and tricks of crafting lovely letters and words using everyday tools & techniques at your disposal—no fancy fountain pens, messy ink wells, or gothic lettering knowledge needed."Martha Bove is a full-time college English Instructor with a background heavy in poetry and painting. As an appreciator, teacher, and practitioner of words and art (and their convergence in calligraphy), she enjoys crafting custom lettering and design with others and for others. Pens and paper will be provided.
